Raccoons can be found virtually anywhere in North America. The raccoon has a long, dense, gray-black coat with a distinctive mask around the eyes. The tail has five to seven black rings, and the feet has five toes with curved, non-retractile claws and hairless soles. The front feet can catch and handle objects while the hind feet support the weight of the body.
